The exploration of mass form, structure, and proportion, supported with innovative design also sophisticated technology, all focused in order to get brand new creation. Look at this house architecture design, this house is realization of expressive and creative idea through architecture with aesthetic wrapping and functional design.
Designed by Ridwan Kamil, for his own house, beside use secondary skin, this house created with floating structure and elements. Built on trapezium land, main building has U letter style with front part of house askew to street, so make the interior layout separated. But, the architect composite room so it opens one to another through transparent playing and a domination of grill lines in interior.
Here, split level structure applied with composition of two floor in front building, and three floor building at back. These two buildings flank an inner court that functioned as buffer area and also relaxation area. Every room connects each other with the next side room. For example, front guest room direct connected with family room, but separated with floor difference.
Overall, interior made cozy with dominant colors accent. For example in family room, this family room is elegant with fascinate furniture and interior accessories. An egg sofa in red color become accent that also cheerful this room. And also, there is accent to inner courtyard through sliding doors.
There is minimal paint used. As substitution, there are textured materials like natural stones, wallpaper, wooden panels, iron grills, and several materials that fulfill interior boards. Various materials combined like black natural stones as floor wrapping and wall wrapping, given lines nooks so has unique appearance.
Another detail is floating effect that applied at furniture. For example, island kitchen table in white color has hidden legs, so make floating effect. Also the concrete structure that wrap red chaise lounge at courtyard area.
